Palette Picks: Find Your Perfect Pop

In my last newsletter, I talked about adding a pop of color to simple outfits in order to elevate it. Here are a few ideas for you to try in August.
Light – Choose delicate, airy pops like pastel pink, light aqua or sky blue.
Deep – Go for rich, strong shades such as burgundy, teal or bittersweet.
Warm – Embrace golden, earthy pops: coral, lime or daffodil.
Cool – Choose, blue-based brights such as cassis, blue-red or sapphire.
Clear – Think clear and vibrant: emerald green, scarlet or bright periwinkle.
Soft – Go for gentle, muted pops like soft violet, sage or shell.
Remember, your pop doesn’t have to be head-to-toe — a bag, a cardigan, earrings or a swipe of lipstick can make all the difference.
The One-Minute Mirror Test

We all know that feeling when you stand in front of the mirror wondering, “Does this outfit really work?”
Here’s a quick trick to help you decide – and step out with confidence every time; The One-Minute Mirror Test.
How it works:
- Stand Tall and Relax
Look at yourself in the mirror for a full minute. No rush, no distractions.
This pause helps you tune in to how the outfit feels as much as how it looks. - Ask Yourself Three Simple Questions:
- Does this outfit reflect who I am?
- Do I feel comfortable and confident in it?
- Is there one finishing touch that will make it pop?
- Quick Fixes to Try:
If your answer to any question is “no” or “maybe”, try these quick tweaks:
- Swap your shoes – maybe heels feel too much, or trainers feel too casual. Try a contrasting color to add interest to a simple outfit.
- Add or remove a layer – a jacket, scarf or belt can change the vibe completely. A jumper tied around your neck says confidence.
- Adjust your accessories – a necklace, earrings, or even a bold lip can pull it all together. Too many pieces may work against your style personality.
- Play with your hair – a quick tuck behind the ears or a clip can make you feel polished. A high pony tail can make you look sleek and youthful.
- Final Check: Smile!
If you like what you see and feel, smile back at yourself. Confidence is the best accessory you can wear.
