What Will You Be Wearing?
We’ve done our usual deep dive into the forthcoming trends, and we have to say, it could be a challenging season! Parachute hems, maximalism and sheers – just a few styles making their way onto the scene. But fear not, we’ve done the hard work to help you navigate these bold looks.
Go Big Or Go Home

Yes, we are talking volume; from puff ball to parachute hems and everything in between. Whilst these styles work on some body shapes such as lean columns, anything voluminous can add volume! That said, a parachute hem is a fresh, modern style which is more wearable than the bubble or puff hem. Expect to see the parachute hem on skirts, summer dresses, anoraks and trousers.

Sticking with this theme, the ‘50s style dress with a full skirt is a much more wearable style that will suit hourglass figures.

Dramatic style personalities will love this new dynamic trend, and there is a lot for Romantics to get their teeth into.

Style tip: Avoid volume at your widest point. If your bottom half is heavier, minimise volume at the hem to keep the focus upward.

Boho Chic
Pretty As Pretty Can Be

Lace and sheer fabrics are set to take centre stage this summer, with brands like Marks & Spencer indicating that they are embracing this trend. Romantic style personalities will adore the return of pretty, light weight fabrics such as organza and chiffon, with tulle skirts staging a striking revival, and somewhere, a minimalist is screaming! Not to be saved for best, they will be incorporated into every day outfits by Dramatics.

Pretty lace and delicate floral patterns on pastel backgrounds are also reimagined in sleek, modern silhouettes, making them perfect for wedding guest or special occasions.

Style tip: Layer a silk cami or slip under sheer pieces for comfort and modesty. For a subtle touch, try a lace sleeve to add romance to tailored or minimalist outfits.

Mad For Plaid

A surprising spring trend, we’re being transported right back to the 90s with plaid and checks. These classic patterns are being reimagined for summer with lighter styles, such as plaid dresses and skirts, featuring frills, asymmetric hems, and breezy fabrics. Most of us likely own a checked shirt (ideally in a flattering shade!), so why not give it a fresh twist by pairing it with your favourite summer jacket and jeans. Naturals will enjoy this easy outfit trend and Creatives will love mixing plaid with graphic tee-shirts and quilted jackets.

Style tip: consider the size of the check. Generally, larger patterns work better and larger frames whilst a smaller check is best left to petites.

Refined Athleisure

Athleisure continues to dominate the fashion landscape, but it’s evolving into something more structured and polished. Enter refined athleisure: a seamless blend of comfort, style, and quiet luxury. Think tailored joggers paired with more formal jackets or stylish cardigans in sustainable fabrics. It lends itself well to spring time layering. Varsity jackets, cardigans and jumpers can be easily incorporated into this trend. Natural style personalities will find this an easy trend to get on board with, whilst City Chics will have many elements in their wardrobe already.

This trend marries the ease of activewear with the sophistication of classic staples, perfect for the modern lifestyle. Its appeal lies in its versatility—effortlessly transitioning from a morning meeting to a relaxed evening out. Refined athleisure proves that comfort and elegance can co-exist.

Style tip: Choose slightly more polished athleisure pieces to achieve an intentional look that feels stylish rather than overly casual. Don’t be afraid to add jewellery to further elevate.

A Fashion Rebellion Against Quiet Luxury?

After seasons of muted tones and understated elegance, maximalism is making a bold return, unapologetically challenging quiet luxury. This trend celebrates mismatched patterns, layered textures, and statement accessories that refuse to blend in. Picture clashing animal prints (move over leopard, it’s time for your cousin, the tiger print to shine) with polka dots and plaid, beaded jackets over graphic dresses, and chaotic jewellery paired with bag charms that demand attention.

Maximalism is a playground for creative style personalities who embrace the art of standing out. It’s loud, it’s fearless, and it’s fun—a sartorial rebellion that invites self-expression and joy back into the fashion conversation. For those craving boldness, maximalism is the ultimate style renaissance. Another one for Creative style personalities whilst Classics will stay well clear of this trend.

Style tip: Opt for colours within your colour palette to maintain harmony and avoid overwhelming your look. Consider the size of prints in relation to your body size.

Enduring Elegance In A Maximalist World

Whilst maximalism is stealing the spotlight, quiet luxury refuses to fade quietly in 2025. This enduring trend champions a conscious shift from commercialism, favoring quality over excess. It’s about building a cohesive wardrobe with understated, timeless pieces in neutral tones.

Think impeccably cut shirts with daringly undone buttons, tailored jeans in versatile cuts, and summer tweeds evoking Jackie O vibes, with buttoned details adding subtle charm. Quiet luxury is clever dressing – mixing new investments with well-loved items to create effortless elegance. It’s the antidote to fleeting trends, proving that sophistication never goes out of style. City Chics and Classics eat your heart out!

Style tip: Stay current each season by updating your accessories. Soft loafers without the penny slot are trending and will slip seamlessly into a City Chic’s wardrobe. Quiet luxury often leans towards neutral shades; add a pop of colour with an accessory, or experiment with more intriguing neutral tones to mix it  up.

Catch Of The Day

Fisherman’s aesthetic is making waves in 2025, blending practicality with rustic charm. Earthy tones dominate this trend, featuring stripe-on-stripe ensembles, classic fisherman jackets, and Barbour-style outerwear. Cable-knit sweaters, casually draped over shoulders, add texture and a touch of nostalgia.

Accessories are key: fish-shaped bags (internet searches are up 50%), string totes, and mesh flats embody the utilitarian yet playful vibe. Fisherman sandals complete the look, striking the perfect balance between functionality and style. This trend reimagines maritime influences with a modern twist, offering a grounded yet whimsical way to channel seaside simplicity into everyday fashion. Naturals will love the easy wear pieces.

Style tip: Shop your own wardrobe. You may well own some of these pieces already.

Everything Else

Accessories in 2025 capture the year’s diverse trends:

Suede Appeal: trainers, loafers and bags In soft suede take centre stage
Athleisure Chic: the canvas Uniqlo bag remains a versatile staple
Maximalist Statements: chunky necklaces, mismatched earrings, bag charms and  bold bracelets define the look
Quiet Luxury: soft buttery hobo bags and  perfectly tailored loafers exude understated elegance, whilst barely-there belts worn over a shirt or sweater will set you apart
Catch of the Day: fisherman sandals, net bags, fish-shaped accessories and jewellery reel in maritime inspiration
Belt Up: A micro-trend that we are seeing everywhere. Skinny belts over cardigans and shirts, chunky ones for boho chic, and self-tie belts built into jeans. If you lack a defined waist, be mindful—belts will accentuate it.

This year’s trends cater to every style, from minimalism to bold expressions.

Style tip: Remember, many of these are trends and you won’t be wearing them next year, so choose your accessories wisely. Shop your own jewellery, bags and shoes first of all.
